Those who want to install their own should prepare for an installation marathon. If you want to make it yourself easy, better use an image.
Be prepared to install a lot of additional perl packages!
Unpack the tar ball in directory / (root)
Then read the file README located under /usr/local/bin.
All user programs are located there either.
